Gamlebyen Hotell is a small, family-run hotel nestled in the heart of the Fortress Town – the oldest fortified town in Northern Europe, located in Fredrikstad. Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and historic architecture, this charming boutique hotel features 17 individually designed rooms, each with its own unique character.
The hotel enjoys a central location within the Fortress Town, just a short walk from the city ferry, which provides easy access to Fredrikstad town centre. On Sundays, the town comes alive with open shops and a relaxed, welcoming rhythm, perfect for leisurely exploration. Throughout the spring and summer, a lively flea market fills the square each Saturday, while in December, the streets are transformed by the glow and charm of a traditional Christmas market.
